Rhythm & Roots Festival Returns
Where: Ninigret Park
When: August 29 to August 31
As it has for over a quarter of a century, Rhythm & Roots will return to Charlestown, this Labor Day Weekend, August 29, August 30, and August 31. This year, the festival showcases music on three stages (the Roots, Rhythm, and Dance Stages) and will feature a variety of music styles, including Cajun, Zydeco, blues, country, bluegrass, Americana, and many other genres. Advertised as fun for all, there will be a wide variety of food vendors, artisans selling their wares, activities and exhibits. Kids can play on the playground, and there will be swimming in Little Nini Pond. Go to https://rhythmandroots.com for more information.

Thanks for the information about the $2M Open Space bond being proposed. It does sound like 50% of it may be used to refill the town coffers where that money may then be spent on who knows what… (that’s not called money laundering is it???). I must be missing something, because it sounds something like if I had been approved for a mortgage a decade ago, but didn’t close on the property, then went back to the bank and told them that I now want that mortgage money – and it’s none of their beeswax what I plan to do with it… What am I missing?
