In Charlestown, there are four polling places for the November 3 Election Day. Charlestown Elementary School, Charlestown Town Hall, Quonochontaug Grange, and St. James Parish Center.
The state prints different ballots for each precinct in Charlestown and there are four polling places in Charlestown for the November 3 election. The ballots are the same for precincts 501 and 502 and for 503 and 504.
To see what your ballot will look like, first find where you live on the map below to get a precinct number, then have a look at the ballot for that precinct. Or you can go to https://vote.sos.ri.gov/Home/PollingPlaces and enter your address to get the polling place information and sample ballot.
The ballot is two pages, front and back, and includes:
- All state and local offices are on the front of page one. Take a local sample ballot with the candidates we recommend to the polls to make voting easy.
- Five state referendum questions, including the Green Bond, are on the back of the candidate page.
- Also on the back of page one is the Chariho bond question. There is a website that explains the Construction Bond for a Unified Elementary School Campus. The website includes renderings of the buildings at the site of the current Charlestown Elementary School, at the corner of Rt. 112 and Shannock Road.
- Charlestown Charter Amendments are on the back of page one, after the Chariho Bond question, and continue to the front of page two. Take our advice to reject charter question 7.
All precincts vote at Town Hall until November 2. All precinct’s ballots will be available at Town Hall during early voting. Vote at your precinct’s polling place only on November 3.
