Outstanding Candidates For The 2026 Election
Charlestown Citizens Alliance (CCA) is pleased to announce the names of the outstanding candidates we will support in the 2026 election. The steering committee reviewed all the declared local candidates and found these talented individuals embody CCA’s guiding principles of protection of our natural environment, civility, inclusiveness, consensus, and fiscal responsibility. They are individuals with the skills and dedication to act in the best interests of all the citizens of the town. They are:
Town Council:* Bonnie Van Slyke, Sasha Puchalski, and Cynthia Drummond
Planning Commission: Coleen Galvin Yaroshenko, Ruth Platner, Frances Topping, and Gordon Willcox
Chariho School Committee: Holly Eaves, Linda Lyall, and Craig Louzon
Town Moderator: David Wilkinson
Charlestown Citizens Alliance President, Leo Mainelli, said, “These are stellar candidates! Each cares deeply about the future of Charlestown and can be relied upon to serve with integrity and intelligence.”
We will have biographies for all these candidates and more election news in the next few days.
*The Steering Committee will also support Stephen Stokes for Town Council. Although we differ with Steve on many issues he has demonstrated his commitment to good governance, a willingness to listen and consider other points of view, and the confidence to act independently. We are of course giving our strongest support to Bonnie, Sasha, and Cynthia, but if you are looking for a fourth vote for Town Council, then we suggest you consider Steve.

Hi Michele, we will have a signing event to gather signatures for the election in the next 10 days or so. You can talk to candidates then about the train or any topic. Aside from the recent posts we have placed about the train on this website, we don’t yet have more information, but we will keep everyone informed when we do.
