Coleen M. Galvin Yaroshenko – Planning Commission

Coleen is currently a small business owner, professional comedian, and motivational speaker. She has been a special education teacher, working with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.

Coleen, a lifelong resident of Rhode Island, moved to Charlestown with her husband Yury four years ago. Drawn to Charlestown for its amazing natural beauty and unique charm, she contends that even though she has traveled all over the world, Charlestown is truly the most wonderful place she has ever been.

She observes, “It was love at first sight, both Charlestown and my husband.”

Coleen is committed to preserving Charlestown’s natural resources, history, and character. She believes that it is possible to focus on preservation and at the same time work with all parties to find solutions that will best serve our community as a whole as it grows.

Coleen has extensive skills in and practice as a coordinator and mediator, which will serve the Planning Commission well. Her background in design and her work experience will be an asset in her work on the Planning Commission.
