Gordon S. Willcox – Planning Commission

Gordon is a native Rhode Islander and retired pharmaceutical executive with strong strategic planning, financial, and communication skills. He worked at three major pharmaceutical companies following many years of experience as a hospital pharmacist in Rhode Island and then at several other national health care organizations.

Having lived in Charlestown for 14 years, he takes advantage of Charlestown’s wonderful natural resources and enjoys Blue Shutters Beach and the vast hiking trails in our preserved open spaces. His main interests in joining the Charlestown Planning Commission are to prioritize the conservation and preservation of our open spaces and natural resources while maintaining fiscal conservatism for an enduring and stable financial position for our town.

Gordon believes strongly in local control of planning and zoning, and believes the town should do all it can to educate the legislature and governor about the importance of protecting Charlestown’s and all of South County’s irreplaceable natural resources.

Gordon’s impressive history of leadership, his education in science, his experience as a member of a zoning board, and his commitment to Charlestown’s natural resources will make him an excellent member of the Charlestown Planning Commission.
