Charlestown Farm Day
When: Saturday, August 29 from 10 am to 3 pm
Where: A self-guided tour of some of Charlestown’s many farms
Farm Day provides a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the diversity of farms in Charlestown, a chance to meet farmers, and learn more about the role of farms across Charlestown.
The event is being sponsored by the Economic Improvement Commission and the Agricultural Preservation Committee of Charlestown.

For the Xmas ramble every year the town issues a map showing where all the participants are located …. the same would be a good idea for this event also.

John if you follow the link in the post above, where it says “For more information”, or go to https://charlestownri.gov/farmday , there is a map on that page that shows the locations for August 29.

You have to work to find the info for this event. Feedback has been given to the organizers to perhaps use a QR code next year on the postcards and posters as people can scan that with their phone rather than remembering to type an email address. This year the town would not let them use a QR code (said it could get hacked).

It is town policy not to use QR codes. Unfortunately, QR codes can be misused to direct people to fraudulent sites, etc., by, for example, someone placing a different code over the original one printed on a poster. This practice is called “quishing” (QR code phishing). If wanted, a shortened website address can be provided on request.
