Wear Daylight Fluorescent Orange For Safety Reasons Starting September 9

lBlazeOrangeWhat: Be Safe! Be sure to wear at least 200 square inches of florescent orange (usually a hat and or a vest) when hiking on state, federal, or other public and private open space.

When: *September 9, 2023 – February 16, 2024 for deer, and until May 19 for other game.

All users of State Management Areas and designated undeveloped State Parks, including but not limited to: hunters, hikers, bikers, horseback riders etc. are required to wear two hundred (200) square inches of solid daylight fluorescent orange during hunting season.

During the shotgun deer season in December, five hundred (500) square inches are required to be worn by all users.

Examples are: a hat that covers 200 square inches or a combination of hat and vest covering 500 square inches.

If  you bring your dog with you on hikes, don’t forget to protect your dog! You can get orange vests for your dog too.
