Vote In State Primary By September 13

Three Ways To Vote (choose one of these)
Vote by mail—If you requested a mail ballot, fill out your mail ballot and mail it by September 6 or place it in the secure drop box outside Town Hall by 8 p.m. on September 13.
Vote early until September 12 —You are able to vote early in person at the Town Hall from August 24 to September 12, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Vote on Tuesday, September 13th —You can vote in person at your polling location, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., on September 13.

There is only one local contest on the Primary ballot, and that is the local Democratic Party primary contest for Senate District 38, (formerly Dennis Algiere’s seat). That senate district includes Charlestown districts 503 and 504 (see map below). There are three Democratic Party candidates in that primary.

If you are unaffiliated, you can vote in either primary, but not both. If you are affiliated, you have to vote with the party you are registered in. If you aren’t sure how you are registered, you can check your voter status at the Secretary of State website.

After you vote in the primary, whether by mail or in person, you will be affiliated in the party you voted in. If you want to disaffiliate, you can request the form to disaffiliate at the polling place or you can change your status online by editing your record and changing party status. You will need your drivers license ID number to edit your voter record.
