Leo Mainelli: Thank You To All The Voters In Charlestown

The following letter by Leo Mainelli was printed in local newspapers. Mr. Mainelli is President of the Charlestown Citizens Alliance.

Freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to cast your vote in a free and open election of government officials are some of the most important elements of the United States of America. This past November 3rd and the weeks leading up to it, the citizens of Charlestown cast their votes in record numbers to elect officials who would represent them for the next two years or more.

I want thank all the people of Charlestown who voted, for their dedication and participation in the voting process which we hold so dear. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a record number of mail in ballots were cast. The crisis caused us to have a voting period from October 14 to November 3, which also proved to be very successful.

I wish to thank the Board of Canvassers and the Town Hall staff for their innovation and hard work to make all that happen, and apparently happen very smoothly.

Once again, thank you to all those who voted in Charlestown.

Leo Mainelli
