Ruth currently serves on the Planning Commission, has a BS degree in Biology, and a long career in science and technology. Her work in land conservation led to the preservation of most of the public open space properties in our town. She is an invaluable leader in the effort to stop the federal plan to bisect northern Charlestown with new rail lines, in the fight for local control of land-use decisions, and in the protection of our groundwater. We need Ruth’s knowledge and experience on the Planning Commission to continue to protect our environment, our economy, and our quality of life.

This is the 3rd year for the Ninigret Arts and Crafts show and there will be artists, woodworkers, potters, jewelers, quilters, crochete and macrame crafters and much more. Charlestown artisan and woodworker, Brian O’Connor of South County Paddles, will again have a booth with many of his fish dioramas.

There is a growing opinion that the study team's mission with the "pop-ups" is to build support for the plan in urban areas that will be served by it, in order to marginalize the opposition in the more rural areas that have the potential to lose irreplaceable natural and historic resources.

This year, the sassiminneash, Narragansett for cranberry, takes center stage in cooking demonstrations featuring Narragansett chef Charles Hankinson, a Johnson & Wales graduate.
