Create, reflect, enjoy time by the Pond, and appreciate it anew.

Join the Salt Ponds Coalition and local artist, Frances Topping, at Ninigret Pond for a brand-new program to look at the salt ponds and their surroundings with “new eyes”. Frances will help as you record thoughts and observations in quick sketches and notes. Using minimal materials, you can produce a memorable keepsake of your time at the salt ponds. No prior drawing experience is necessary; all levels are welcome.

Materials needed include a pen or pencil, and notepaper (with a backing) or a sketchbook (multimedia ones are good). Frances and Salt Ponds Coalition will bring some extra supplies, including colored pencils. Participants are welcome to bring their own colored pencils, a small watercolor kit, a micron pen, and a waterbrush or brush and water container.

Meet at the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge. There is one bench onsite but if you would like a guaranteed seat bringing a light collapsible chair is recommended. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water also suggested. Rain location will be the Kettle Pond Visitor Center.

Reservations are required
