The Mysterious Case Of Samuel Davis

What: Learn about Samuel Davis who was a Quonochontaug developer, lawyer and preacher and why he was so mysterious.
Who: Presentation by Ken Andrew, Quonochontaug Historical Society Board member

Samuel was born in 1867 in West Virginia. He went to college in Alfred, New York and became a prohibition activist. He eventually settled in Westerly, Rhode Island where he served as a Seventh Day Baptist minister. Samuel studied law and in the 1930s served as a judge in Rhode Island. He ended up on the other side of the law, though, going to prison in the mid 1930s for stealing church funds.
