Quonochontaug Historical Society Archive Now Online!
Quonochontaug Historical Society (QHS) has enhanced their archive with web-based capabilities. This will enable remote access to their Archive collections. This has been an important goal of the QHS and the culmination of a significant amount of work over the past year. From the comfort of your home, you are now able to browse their collection and expand your knowledge of the unique history of the Quonochontaug area.
How To Get Started: To access the online collection, go to the Online Catalog page at the QHS website.
Browse an array of “Featured Collections” or use the easy “Keyword Search” capability to find your particular interest.
Did you know that the Hindenburg flew directly over Quonochontaug on its last voyage or that a two-headed cow was born on a Quonnie farm? Just try “Hindenberg” or “Two Headed Calf” in the Search Bar!
How You Can Help: Much of the collection has been donated by Quonnie residents since QHS’s inception as a local historical society almost 35 years ago. If you have artifacts, pictures, and/or other documents relating to Quonnie’s fascinating past, please email CHS at: archivist@quonochontaughistoricalsociety.org. With your help, they will continue to expand and share knowledge of Quonnie’s captivating past.
