Presentation On Charlestown Breachway

Where: At the Charlestown Breachway, 812-774 Charlestown Beach Road, Charlestown (In case of rain the presentation will be at the Kettle Pond Visitor Center at 50 Bend Rd, Charlestown)
What: An update on the status of the repairs at the Charlestown Breachway

Steve McCandless, Town of Charlestown Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator, and Emily Hall, coastal geologist for the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), will present an overview of the effectiveness of October 2024’s emergency repair, what was observed over the offseason, and how to interact with the breachway safely this summer. You can bring your own chair if the weather is nice for sitting at the breachway.
This discussion was organized by The University of Rhode Island Coastal Resources Center, Rhode Island Sea Grant, the Town of Charlestown, the Salt Ponds Coalition, the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council, and the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank.
