Are You Getting Tired Of Picking Up Other People’s Trash?
You Can Take Action To Clean Up Litter And Plastic Waste By Supporting the 2025 Rhode Island Bottle Bills!
Beverage bottles clog storm drains, float into rivers and streams, and break down into microplastic bits that pollute our ponds and waterways. There is a solution! States with bottle bills have less litter and higher rates of recycling.
This year Rhode Island has two proposed bottle bills. Sign a letter to your state legislators today! Tell them to support H6207 and H6206 to fight litter and waste!
You can read the bills and track their progress at H6207 and H6206
You can write to your legislators in support of the bills with this easy to use form provided by Clean Water Action.

The bottle bills are nothing more than a cash cow for the state. All unclaimed deposits go to the state. How about encouraging people to recycle. Vote NO

For sure a bottle bill would not stop people from throwing out fast food containers and other litter, unfortunately. However, in Massachusetts, redeeming deposits on bottles and cans has been a good fundraiser for Scouts. Just save your cans and bottles for a Scout troop! It works and it’s easy.

Bottle bills do little to stop litter, all you have to do is drive in CT. They have had one for years. Just causes another tax for people that don’t litter as it is too much of a pain in the @$$ to redeem. Redemption stands only redeem bottles and cans that they sell at their location. Besides it is akin to unconstitutional gun bans, It does nothing to stop scofflaws. NO NEW TAXES!!!

Agreed. Spot on. The state doesn’t care about the environment just the money they will make from unclaimed deposits

Charlestown’s Representative Tina Spears is the primary sponsor of H6206, but it does not hurt to send the letter to her. It helps her to see there is support for her bill. Share the post with your friends in other communities and more legislators may then get the message.
