Commercial And Village Design Standards Public Workshop

When: Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00 pm
Where: Charlestown Town Hall, 4540 South County Trail

The Charlestown Planning Commission is hosting a public workshop to present a draft of commercial and village standards to promote good design for new development in commercial areas in Charlestown. The consultant group, Libra Planners, will present a summary of the project and the proposed design guidelines for non-residential development, and will be available for questions and to describe the next steps. The public is encouraged to attend. Members of the Commercial and Village Design Standards Advisory Committee will also be in attendance.

The work of the Design Standards Committee has been dedicated to the memory of Peter Mahony, past Planning Commission member, and Vice-Chair of the Design Standards Advisory Committee. Peter passed away towards the end of the Committee’s work. Peter was an Architect, a Landscape Architect, and a professional Planner. Peter’s knowledge and the talent and experience of all the committee members can be seen in the plan.
