Climate Resiliency Meeting With Senator Gu And Representative Spears

When: Monday, April 29, from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
Where: Quonochontaug Grange, 5662 Post Road, Charlestown
What: Charlestown’s State Representative Tina Spears and RI State Senator Victoria Gu, who represents the southern and most western parts of Charlestown, are holding an informational meeting on Climate Resiliency.

Representatives from the Rhode Island Coastal Resource Management Council (CRMC) and Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency will discuss frequently asked questions about recent storm recovery work, regulations, and funding opportunities for mitigation work.

Representatives from the both the federal and Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (FEMA and RI EMA) will give a presentation and be available to assist individuals and business owners who sustained losses during the December 17-19 2023 and January 9-13 2024 storms in applying for federal disaster relief funds. The deadline for applications for the disaster relief is May 20. You can also visit DisasterAssistance.gov to apply for assistance.

Residents and businesses are invited to share their ideas, experiences, and priorities regarding climate resiliency efforts in the local area.
