Marine Mammal First Responder Training Class At Cross Mills Library
When: Thursday, October 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Cross Mills Public Library, 4417 Old Post Rd., Charlestown
Registration: Registration is required
You can volunteer for the Mystic Aquarium Animal Rescue Program by becoming a first responder. In this role, you would be dispatched to various types of marine mammal and sea turtle responses that may include the following: live animal monitoring, data collection, and public outreach. There is no specific time commitment or schedule requirement for this role.
Classes are being offered on different dates in Mystic, North Kingstown and other venues in addition to the class at Cross Mills Public Library.

Since 1975, Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Program has been rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and stranded marine animals along 1,000 miles of the Northeastern coastline throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and Fishers Island, New York. It is fun and fascinating to watch the Mystic Aquarium folks release seals that they have cured back into the ocean. They often do this from East Beach in Charlestown. We have been several times and taken our grandchildren who really enjoy it too.
