Why: Public Hearing on the Tentative 2023-2024 Municipal Budget of $15,825,425.00
The municipal budget represents an increase in spending of $764,492.00, which is a 5% increase over the previous year.
The entire budget is available for review at the Town’s website.
The budget, if adopted, is projected to result in a tax rate of $5.71 per thousand of valuation.

Wow …. I scrolled through all 216 pages of the budget and the total change is made up of many (100’s ??) little items …. what would be helpful if someone on the town staff would summarize the major changes, and the major contributions to the $764,000 increase, with a few words of explanation. I think that one of these is the formation of a new finance department … is that correct? If so why? … and any other like large items.
