Video: Town of Charlestown Experimental Septic System Install
The Town of Charlestown’s Onsite Wastewater Management Program created this first short video detailing the Town’s Nitrogen Reducing Layered Soil Treatment Area (LSTA) Septic System pilot project. There will be a series of these videos as the program progresses.
The Town has implemented this forward-thinking assessment. There have been years of hard work and collaboration to bring the project to fruition. The first video illustrates the need, design, treatment mechanisms and installation of the LSTA system.

De-Nyte septic system, approved in NH and ME, is a similiar low-cost, below ground, de-nitrification system.

An outstanding use of science to solve an environmental problem. If only other proven-to-be-effective pollution-avoiding science-based technologies could be implemented in such a timely way it would solve a lot of problems. The fossil fuel companies have a lot to answer for.
