Richmond News Now Covered By Beaver River Valley Community Association

The Beaver River Valley Community Association (BRVCA) was founded in 2018 by concerned property owners and residents in Richmond for the purpose of protecting the rural character and historic and natural resources that define the Historic Beaver River Valley Agricultural District. The area includes the Great Swamp, and the historic villages of Kenyon, Shannock and Carolina, all of which are shared with Charlestown. Also included are the scenic Beaver River and Shannock Hill Roads that are both in Richmond, but very near to Charlestown.

Cynthia Drummond, who wrote for many years for the Westerly Sun, has brought her considerable skill and high journalistic standards to cover Richmond Town Council and Planning Board meetings for the BRVCA. You can read her articles at the BRVCA web site. These are on the website front page in full text with the most recent story at the top. Most recently Cynthia covered the split Town Council votes on the PVD Food Truck contract in Richmond.

Because of our shared borders and interests, Cynthia’s coverage is a benefit to Charlestown readers, but for people in Richmond this is amazing coverage, and more and better coverage of town meetings than they ever got from the newspaper. Hopefully Richmond residents appreciate the service that the Beaver River Valley Community Association is providing.
