Charlestown Be-Fit Road Bike Tour Is Now Mapped
The Charlestown Be-Fit Road Bike Tour is a bike tour of our beautiful town and was conceived and developed by the Charlestown Parks and Recreation Commission.
The tour passes many of our town’s pristine conserved lands along with Historic Cemeteries, ponds, streams and inviting businesses.
The Tour, all north of Route 1, is designed as a West Leg and/or an East Leg with parking at either end points. If done in one direction, a pick-up vehicle will be needed. Out and back the full ride is about 25 miles.
All roads on the mapped tour are categorized as suitable by the state for biking. All are country roads and care should be taken.
Riders should ride single file, wear a helmet, have lights front and back, wear light bright clothing, use hand signals and have fun.
Find the full trail description at the Town’s website.

Wonderful idea but…
I agree with John especially on Kings Factory Rd. There is virtually no signage to warn motorists about hikers and bikers. Some one is going hurt or killed on KFR or Prosser. Not even a share the road sign.

Are they going to widen the road and make a special bike lane? Shannock Road is very narrow and has many curves and people drive quite fast.

Great work, thanks to all who contributed to this effort.

Looks excellent. I suggest that road signs be put up every few (2-3?) miles reminding motorists to drive carefully and politely share the roads with cyclists. Many drivers are not too good at that.
