Opposition Candidates Missing From FRA Public Comment Documents
Our opposition in the 2018 election who call themselves “Charlestown Residents United” continue to misrepresent their involvement in fighting the Federal Railroad Administration plan to bisect northern Charlestown with new rail lines.
Now they claim they made public statements and other involvement.
The Federal Railroad Administration actually compiles and indexes every petition, letter, and public comment submitted, opposing or supporting the high-speed rail plan. You can find the index at their website
You can search the last names of Charlestown residents and candidates. You will find Tom Gentz, Ruth Platner, Virginia Lee, Julie Carroccia, Karen Jarret, Kim Coulter’s husband William, Bonnie Van Slyke, and many others from Charlestown. You will find a 24 page organizational public comment from the Charlestown Citizens Alliance.
You can also find the sum total of all public comments linked here (beware it’s a huge file): Hint… not one candidate on the slate calling itself Charlestown Residents United even bothered to send an email opposing the Kenyon to Old Saybrook Bypass.
This is just one more false statement in a long list of lies from our opposition. We hope the voters have studied the issues and the candidates. For more information visit our Election Page for full election coverage.

So there you have it. Maybe Ken Robbins can find a public document that contradicts CCA’s public document, but I doubt it. When they are faced with undisputed evidence of their own lies, how can CRU expect the voters to bury their heads in the sand and ignore the lies.

Because this is America. Burying our heads is what we do.
