Allen's Cove-Eastern Ninigret Pond Pilot Watershed Project
When: Thursday, June 15, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Cross Mills Public Library, 4417 Old Post Road, Charlestown
Project partners, including staff from the Town of Charlestown, URI, Salt Ponds Coalition, and Save the Bay, will be in attendance to discuss their work on the Allen's Cove-Eastern Ninigret Pond Pilot Watershed Project and talk with Charlestown residents about residents' interests in the watershed and any questions about the project they may have.

Where: Kettle Pond Visitor Center, Bend Road, Charlestown
Registration: Please call 401.364.9124 to register, anytime, just leave your name and number.
During this workshop, participants will learn the basics of tree identification and then practice their new skills on a field walk.

Public Hearing For Cannabis Retail Locations Continues June 12

Zoning Ordinance Changes
When: Monday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
Where: Town Hall
In the November 2022 election, Charlestown voters approved the retail sale of cannabis (marijuana) in Charlestown with 54.3% voting in favor and 45.7% opposed. Now that the ballot question has passed, the town needs to decide how and where to allow a cannabis retail store should one be allotted to our town by the state.
