Carol Mossa

Carol’s accomplishments, experience, education, and capabilities are considerably greater than what we have listed on this page. We’ve listed only those things that apply to land use planning or that are current endeavors. She is a person who never stops learning or creating and we are happy that she has decided to continue this journey as a member of the Planning Commission.

Carol A. Mossa – Planning Commission

Carol is an award winning photographer, writer and publisher as well as a local small business owner. Her education, with both an MFA and MBA combines art and business. More recently she has added wellness to her studies and practice. Carol has lived in Charlestown for 13 years and loves our unique, small town character where “Charlestown knows who it is and doesn’t strive to be Westerly or South Kingstown or Narragansett.” Carol is also committed to land conservation and protection of wildlife and their habitats.

Carol has been a member of the Planning Commission for the last two years where her experience in art and design have been invaluable to the committee working on Commercial and Village Design Standards. This comprehensive set of standards will guide the design and development of commercial properties in an historically sensitive rural context.

Carol’s combined life experience of exploring, creating, editing, teaching, and managing businesses makes her well qualified to serve on the Charlestown Planning Commission where she understands the needs of business and the ability to balance that against the cultural, aesthetic and environmental impacts on our community.
