The single overriding problem is the domineering and abusive behavior of James Mageau

In response to Alan Rosenberg’s little satire about the Charlestown Town Council members I can only say “Allan have you attended any of these meetings?” If you had, there would be a different perspective on the member’s personalities and performance. While you attempted to characterize each with a few smart comments you overlooked the much more important facts.

The public and town volunteer’s have been abused, criticized and attacked. Charlestown citizen’s democracy has been marginalized in favor of James Mageau’s “my way or the highway” form of governing. Had you been in attendance at just a few of these meetings it would have been abundantly clear that the single overriding problem is the domineering and abusive behavior of James Mageau. Under the relentless ‘bashing’ to use your word, of Mr. Mageau, it is surprising that Harriet Allen and Kate Waterman were as controlled and collected in their response as they were. It is so easy to fire off satire…….I would ask you Mr. Rosenberg “could you have kept your cool as the recipient of Mageau’s bashings”? People reading your article might think the problem is across the spectrum of the Charlestown Town Council where the problem is and has been James Mageau. As the South County Regional Editor, satire aside, I expect more accurate and fair accounting of the issues.
