When the full House met to determine whether the Governor’s veto of expansion of gambling in RI would be overridden, Rep Walsh was one of three out of 75 Representatives that didn’t even bother to attend and vote. Her “walk away” from the override vote was simply a means for her to not be on the record with her position of expanding gambling in the state but still remain in good graces with the Speaker and House Democrats.
Where was Representative Walsh when her colleague, friend and supporter Councilman Jim Mageau attempted a coup against the Town of Charlestown by trying to install himself into the position of Town Administrator? With all the turmoil swirling around Charlestown Town government over the past months, why has she been silent and absent for so long? And where was she when Mageau forced through a $3000 waste of taxpayer's money to perform yet another study of whether denitrification septic systems work to lower nitrates in the salt ponds? She couldn't even attend the Charlestown Town Council meeting to explain to Mageau that he is wrong--so perhaps all her environmental legislation she tries to pass is just a farce?
Well this is an election year, so you can bet that we are about to soon see her around the District looking for your vote. And fortunately for voters, they will be tying Rep. Walsh directly to her good buddy Jim Mageau--that will surely portend defeat for Walsh unless she breaks from Mageau and stands up for open, fair government in Charlestown. We're all waiting.
