Bioluminescent Paddle in Ninigret Pond
July 14, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Bioluminescent jellyfish have been spotted in Ninigret Pond, so we’ve scheduled an evening paddle this Friday to see this amazing natural light show. WPWA’s Chris Fox will take participants on the pond for a sunset paddle to a location where these elusive creatures are known to gather.
The paddle is scheduled for this Friday July 14th, from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. This year we will again be meeting at a private residence on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown. Directions will be emailed to you soon after you register.
This popular program is limited to 10 participants, and registration is on a first come first served basis, so register by clicking the REGISTER ONLINE button below now!
For WPWA Dragonfly and Trout Members the price is $40 per person. Cost for Non-Members is $65, which includes a basic WPWA Dragonfly Membership. If you are a WPWA Otter, Osprey, or Eagle Member, the program is free and you will not be asked for payment when you register online.
Single-person kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided to all participants. Because we are meeting at a private residence we prefer that participants do not bring their own boats. Feel free to bring your own life jacket and/or paddle if you would feel more comfortable. We will be launching from a floating dock that is NOT handicapped accessible, if you have a significant physical limitation this program may not be right for you. Consider scheduling a private paddle for you and up to four friends at which WPWA can make arrangements to accommodate your limitation.
Because this paddle will take place in the dark, it is not appropriate for first-time paddlers. Participants must be at least 10 years old and able to paddle their own kayak.
