(Almost) Full Moon Walk of Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge
July 7 @ 7:30 pm
No, Dr. Bob will not be dancing like Michael Jackson, but he will take you on an evening exploration of the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge under the light of an almost-full moon.
Sometimes the busiest time of day in the summer woods and fields is in the evening, when the birds, mammals, and insects get active as the temperature cools off.
The full moon is really not until Sunday, but it’s 98% full today, and the timing is more convenient. Moonrise is at 7:06, and sunset is at 8:22. We’ll wander around for a while and see what we can discover, then do some moon-watching. Expect mosquitoes (long pants and insect repellent are advisable), and a flashlight might be helpful.
Cancelled if raining, call 364.9124, extension 4413 for update.
