Family Hike at Grills Preserve in Westerly

When: Sunday, January 28, 2 – 3:30pm
Where: Grills Preserve, Westerly, RI

Grills Preserve was one of the natural areas that would have been bisected by the new train tracks planned by the Federal Railroad Administration. This hike is an opportunity to see what would have been lost had we not been successful in removing the “Old Saybrook to Kenyon Bypass” from the plan!

The Westerly Land Trust will host a family-friendly walk through Grills Preserve. This wooded land is perfect for an outing, with scenic views along the Pawcatuck River and a panoramic vista from atop Big Hill. You’ll learn about the preserve’s habitats, animals that live in them, and some of the interesting historical features here.

This hike is considered moderate level and does involve hilly terrain. Meet at the parking lot at the cul-de-sac end of Bowling Lane in Bradford Village. Hike Leader: Donna Anderson

Please arrive on time as the hike will leave promptly at 2pm.

*Please contact Donna Anderson prior to the Sunday walk if you plan to attend. Phone: 203-470-4566
