Chariho Regional School District is one of the most respected in the state
The following letter was published in local newspapers and is shared with us here by the author Michael Chambers
On Tuesday, April 11, the residents of Hopkinton, Richmond, and Charlestown are scheduled to vote on the Chariho Regional School budget.
The school budget constitutes a significant portion of all three town budgets. It also enables the taxpayers to decide on the quality of education their children can receive. So the fiscal impact is significant as is the educational impact on the children.
The Chariho Regional School District is one of the most respected in the state. Our students have achieved great success in testing results, social programs, apprenticeships, and a greater percentage have gone on to higher education than ever before. All this spells out success, not only on a personal level but also on a town level. Good schools attract good families. Good students attract solid business opportunities, and businesses help towns grow.
So on April 11, go to the polls, invest in the children — invest in the town — invest in the future. If you don’t vote, you leave the future in someone else’s hands; maybe someone with whom you don’t agree. It is your choice any way you look at it.
