Third Annual Twin Peaks Preservation Stroll
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
On Sunday, October 2, 2016, the 3rd annual 5K Walk/Stroll supporting Breast Cancer Research will step off at the Charlestown Rathskeller, Old Coach Road, Charlestown.
The walk will happen rain or shine!
Registration begins at 8:30 am, the walk steps off at 10:00 am, and light refreshments will be served after the cancer walk.
Pat Ready, a breast cancer survivor of 22 years and Nancy Ringler, a breast cancer survivor of three years have joined forces to bring cancer awareness to Southern Rhode Island. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society to fight all cancers. These two brave survivors are to be commended for increasing cancer awareness, the need for early detection and finding a cure for this horrific disease that affects so many.
Here are some photos from last year’s event (click a photo to open lightbox).
Town Council President Tom Gentz will speak at the event as will State Representative Blake Filippi.
Registration fee this year of $20 comes with a free T-shirt, but other donations are accepted as well.
