RI Presidential Primary, Tuesday, April 26

  • Polls are open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • If you are registered as “Unaffiliated”, you can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary
  • After you vote, request the form to disaffiliate so you can return to, or become, “Unaffiliated”
  • Polling place for districts 0501 & 0502 – Charlestown Town Hall – see map below
  • Polling place for districts 0503 & 0504 – Charlestown Ambulance Station – see map below

  • Download the sample ballot for both parties

The ballot looks complicated, but most of the complication surrounds delegates.

First find the party you want to vote in. Democrats are listed first, scroll down in the sample ballot to find the Republicans.

If you vote in the Democratic Primary

  • Vote for one presidential candidate
  • Then vote for up to seven delegates under the Presidential Candidate that you selected

If you vote in the Republican Primary

  • Vote for one presidential candidate
  • Then vote for up to three Congressional delegates under the Presidential Candidate that you selected (some have fewer than three)
  • Then vote for up to ten Statewide delegates under the Presidential Candidate that you selected

After you vote, request the form to disaffiliate so you can return to, or become, “Unaffiliated”
