Robin Spears Displayed Tribal Crafts at February Town Council Meeting

Charlestown Resident and Narragansett Tribe member, Robin Spears, displayed his hand crafted work at the February 9, Town Council meeting. He uses found objects such as birds killed by cars and left at the roadside as a source of bird feathers. As a member of a federally recognized tribe, Mr. Spears is also eligible to acquire bald eagle feathers and talons, which he had featured in some of his pieces. Deer skin and deer legs and hooves were also used. A snapping turtle shell had been fashioned into a shield and other smaller turtles turned into rattles.
