Residential sited Industrial Wind Turbines: the Facts about Infrasound Pulsation

Dr. Harold Vincent*, URI Associate Research Professor, will explain how infrasonic sound is created by turbines and how it can effect humans. This will be followed by a question and answer session. It is free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
*Harold Vincent is a faculty member in the Department of Ocean Engineering at URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography. He is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and other organizations
Two approximately 410 foot wind turbines are proposed for land abutting residential neighborhoods in Charlestown. The Zoning Board of Review will conduct a hearing for a special use permit to build and operate the two wind turbines on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at Charlestown Elementary School.
