Public Hearing on Proposed Chariho Budget
Middle School Auditorium
Tuesday, March 5, at 7 PM
Per the Chariho Act, at least 25 registered voters from each Chariho community must attend the public hearing on the proposed budget. In the event a town fails to meet the minimum number of attendees required, the proposed hearing will be postponed until Wednesday evening, March 6, at the same place and time. The public hearing offers residents an opportunity to educate themselves about the needs of our high performing schools, review the budget in detail and ask questions about the capital reserve, debt service, surplus account, federal grants and operating expenses.
Once adopted by the school committee, the $57,660,683 budget for 2013-2014 will go to referendum for voter approval in the three towns. Please consider the importance of attending this important meeting and voting in the referendum.
