There are still things to do in Charlestown as Summer winds down. The Farmers Markets are still running and the Rhythm and Roots Festival is in full swing this weekend. See our Bulletin Board for details on these and other things to do in September and October. The Big Apple Circus is returning to Charlestown next summer after a two year absence so there will be even more to do next year.
The Planning Commission met on Wednesday, August 31 with an expert from Alteris Renewables, to begin work on Zoning Ordinance changes to allow wind energy devices scaled to power individual homes and small businesses. If you are interested in this topic or have experience with small turbines, you are encouraged to submit comments to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure the Planning Commission sees them. The Commission has set up a sub group to work on this topic so comments should be submitted as soon as possible since the Commission hopes to wrap this up quickly.
